Sharyn Fuller ( [email protected] ) writes: We were up in Washington and Oregon and were doing some genealogy research in Coos Co, Or. On a marriage license for Benjamin Franklin Wyatt and Anna E. Moore, of 31 October 1908, a Clara Haworth signed as a having knowledge that these two people were of appropriate age to be married.
[Benj. F. Wyatt was the brother of George Wyatt who had married Elizabeth Ann Haworth daughter of James and Mary Jane (Lindley) Haworth.]
Dewitt Clinton Haworth (born March 1878) and his wife Clara (Bourne) Haworth lived in Coos Co. from before 1910. Clara died there 14 February 1970 according to the death index, but was buried in Arapahoe Cemetery in Nebraska. Dewitt was still alive in April 1930 for the census, but I have not found his death recorded yet. Dewitt and Clara bought land in Town site of Coos Bay, Coos Co, OR in October 1909 and sold it to the Railroad in 1910 (they were living in North Bend, Coos, Or). The deed selling the land to the railroad was witnessed by Anna and Desiree Wyatt and notarized by Benj. F. Wyatt. In December 1915, D.C. Haworth bought 2 lots in Bandon, Coos Co, OR. In November 1916 D.C. Haworth 3 more lots in Bandon.
Additionally, in March 1921, a James Haworth bought a lot in Marshfield (later called Coos Bay), Coos County, OR.
I don't have any more Haworth land information for Coos Co. The book where they keep all land transactions listed by person instead of by date didn't have any more transactions for Haworth's. I don't know when the Haworth's sold the land they ended up with; it would require another visit to the County courthouse in Coos County, since we ran out of time. Sharyn Fuller
