Dear Friend,

I am saddened to tell you that Lowell passed away on December 24, 2002. He had been ill for five years with a blood disorder called Myelodysplasia.

On the first of December, he developed acute myelogenous leukemia.

He was very ill for the past one and a half to two years.

He had hopes of doing the "Events" again, but it was not to be. He enjoyed doing the newsletter, and I thank you for being a faithful reader.

I will continue to fill orders for the book, "SOME QUAKER FAMILIES-Scarborough/Haworth".

Sincerely,

Edith E. Scarbrough

Edith adds:

Lowell appreciated all who subscribed to the Newsletter, past and present, and to the contributors of family information, corrections and additions. These are the people who helped him produce an interesting family Newsletter. He was grateful to those who sent donations, and for letters received telling him he was doing a great job. A pat on the back is a good morale booster. He worked very hard as "Ye Ed" as he called himself. I extend thanks for Lowell and myself to all who ordered the books Some Quaker Families. They contain a large amount of family history. After being married for 56 years, I truly miss him.

Edith
