Editor's Notes:
The Haworth Record was a family newsletter that was published by Chas. Davis, of High Point NC. The first issue, Volume 1, No.1, was printed in January 1906. The last issue, Volume 4, No.5, was published in April, 1915. Many family members have originals of some of these publications. In connection with 1999 reunion, I was given a copy of all the remaining papers of Chas. Davis by his daughter, Mrs. Craven. This included a copy of every issue of his publication. I believe that this is the first time that all of the issues have been brought together in recent history. Each of the issues were scanned and made available for the attendees of the 1999 reunion on a CD.
My father first saw the work of Mr. Davis when he came west from Vermilion IL to Clackamas OR to visit his great uncle, Lindley Murray Haworth, a genealogist. The first of many letters written by his great uncle can been seen at Volume 3, Issue 9, Page 4. My father always referred to Chas. Davis' work as a "work of art", since his penmanship was truly beautiful. Of course, these publications were prepared for his printing press, and required each letter or number to be set manually, by hand.
I was not sure where to place Volume II, Issue 3 Supplement, so I just added it after the last Volume Ii issue.
Chas. Davis is the son of Susannah Alice Haworth, #1049 at Page 796 of Volume II , "Some Quaker Families - Scarborough/Haworth", and John Bunyan Davis.
