History:

Vermilion Academy was founded in 1874 by Vermilion Quarterly Meeting of the Friends' Church. The academy building was constructed in 1874, and remodeled in 1911. The academy closed in 1932, at which time the building was used as a public elementary school until 1965. It was demolished in 1987.
