WAS JAMES HAWORTH'S DAUGHTER, JEMIMA,
ON BOONE'S FAILED 1773 EXPEDITION?
"Fair America" states that James' "young
daughter" Jemima was on this expedition. I consider it as possible, but
unproven.
·
Jemima Haworth Wright seems to have made the same
moves as her brothers even after her marriage.
·
If Jemima was on the expedition, however, it was as
a 28-year old married woman with children, not as a child.
Note that the account in Chapter VI about Jemima and her children and the
account in Chapter VIII about Jemima's grandson appear to be accurate.
